Monthly Newborn Cohort Kick Off!

Our next newborn cohort will be kicking off soon! Cohorts include 3+ months of weekly in-person meet ups + weekly Zoom sessions with expert speakers on breastfeeding, infant sleep, postpartum recovery and more! Cohorts are hyper-local with an average of 30+ Greater Petworth families. You do NOT need to live in Petworth to participate! Speaker Series: Raising Kids with Nature

Children do not need to be expert naturalists to benefit from time outdoors. Join Carlos Duque to explore how everyday experiences in parks, backyards, and neighborhoods can help children build confidence, curiosity, resilience, and a lasting sense of connection to the natural world. Carlos is the Preschool Director at Nature Forward and has more than 10 years of experience in early childhood education. He is passionate about nature-based, play-centered learning and helping children feel at home outdoors through meaningful, accessible experiences in nature.
Peanuts Member Happy Hour

Join us at the newest Upshur Corridor dining destination, District Larder, for our next All-Peanuts monthly happy hour! All Peanuts member families are welcome; District Larder will have some great specials and family friendly options available. Kiddos of all ages encouraged! District Larder "is a love letter to neighborhood eating, built by those who know their craft"; the dinner menu looks delish + enjoy local beers, solid cocktails, and non-alcoholic drinks.
Peanuts Member Bi-Monthly Mahjong

Thrilled to offer ~2x monthly Mahjong meet ups for Peanut members at neighborhood gem, Jackie Lee's! Beginners and all skill levels welcomed! Join the Peanuts Mahjong Enthusiasts chat in WhatsApp for meet up information; seasoned players will be on hand to support orientation for newbies. Peanuts always provides some appetizers, too.
Speaker Series: Body Image & Confidence

The everyday messages children receive about their bodies can shape their confidence and self-perception for life. Join Jill Jerome, LCSW-C, RPT-S, to learn how intentional language can help children trust their bodies, honor their instincts, understand that their “yes” and “no” belong to them, and feel good about all their bodies can do. Jill is a Child/Family/Play Therapist and Clinical Director at Growing Minds Center for Child and Family Therapy. Link in the Member Portal.
Speaker Series: Perimenopause, sigh.

Join Dr. J.A. Simon, internationally recognized as “The Menopause Whisperer,” for an evidence-based conversation about perimenopause, menopause, and women’s sexual health. Dr. Simon will explain common symptoms, including hot flashes, insomnia, mood changes, and low libido, and discuss treatment options such as hormone replacement therapy and testosterone. A board-certified OB/GYN and reproductive endocrinologist, Dr. Simon is one of the world's leading specialists in menopause care and has dedicated decades to helping women better understand their bodies and advocate for effective treatment.
Speaker Series: Raising Orchid Children

Join Gabriele Nicolet and Jen Dryer to better understand “Orchid Kids” through a nervous-system lens and learn practical ways to respond to sensitivity, reactivity, and big emotions with greater compassion and confidence. Gabriele and Jen support families of sensitive, intense, neurodivergent, and highly reactive children. Their approach helps parents better understand behavior, and build more connected ways of responding when parenting feels hard.
Bhangra Night OUT!

New Date TBD 8:30 – 10:00pm, Hook Hall
All Peanut adults - moms, dads et al - are invited to join us for this fun night of Bhangra and bollywood dance instruction with an experienced Bhangra expert Anisha Singh (+ dance accessories of course!). Tickets will be $20 per person; ticket fees will cover instruction + some appetizers! Wear loose-fitting clothes and comfortable shoes! New date coming soon after postponement due to medical issue!
