Join Petworth Peanuts for our third Annual Peanuts Book Exchange + Carnevale Celebration! This fun event will include over a thousand donated kids' books available FREE! Plus, tons of free kids entertainment (including Mr. Rob, an amazing magician, Tara Hoot, tap dancing by Smitz & Witz, and Teatro de la Luna!) - as well as a balloon artist, soft play area, large bounce house, kids' games, giveaways, and more. And, in honor of Carnevale, enjoy fun themed giveaways, plus a costume contest for kids (with prizes!). It's one of our most beloved events of the year!
PLUS! This year we invite kids and adults to participate in the Peanuts Gallery! Our first annual juried art competition! More information about submission / prizes and guidelines can be found here. All artists will receive participation medals, plus category winners will receive prizes!

Frequently asked questions about the Exchange:
What kind of books are you accepting? We are accepting kids books, for any age or stage in any language that are in good condition. Parenting/maternity books also welcomed. Please do not donate non-parenting-related books for adult readers.
Just books? Kids' puzzles (complete, with pieces fully contained) also welcomed!
When can I start dropping off donations? We are now accepting donations on any of the porches in the map above! Donations will continue until further notice as we are currently rescheduling the event. Any donations brought to the event (date TBD) should be sorted and added to the relevant sections.
How much is admission to the Exchange? Free for ALL! Though if possible, we do suggest a $5 donation per family, whether or not you are a Peanuts member, to help us offset event costs / benefit Peanuts mutual aid initiatives.
How can I stay updated on this event? Follow us on Instagram! And check back here for any other updates.
Can I bring books directly to the Exchange? Yes, but please take your donations to the correct sections/categories when you arrive; signs will mark each section.
Can you come pick up my donation? If you have a very substantial donation (at least 2+ boxes), contact us at events@petworthpeanuts.com and we may be able to coordinate pick up. Otherwise we ask that all donations are dropped off on the above porches, or brought to the event and sorted).
What happens to the surplus books? We receive anywhere between 2,000 - 3,000 books each year! Even after open shopping, many, many high quality books remain available - and those books are donated to local schools and libraries. Last year, we donated over 1,000 books to the Petworth Library! The library was able to supplement their inventory AND sold several hundred books for a significant fundraising profit. This year, donations will benefit several identified area libraries and schools - as well as Peanuts service initiatives, including the upcoming Mother's Day Free Market.
