Can you help make the market possible?
The market is 100% dependent on donations and volunteers! Many opportunities are available, with a critical need for collection points (covered porches), postering support, and day-of logistics and staffing. Check out the volunteer needs and sign up to help here. We are collecting porch donations starting in April through the Wednesday before the market (May 7), or Church donations May 8-10.
Donations should be in good used condition; please do not donate stained, damaged, or incomplete items. We also request that you please:
-
Bag and label all clothing together by size
-
Bag or tie shoes together in pairs
-
Bag and label all pumps with their respective parts
-
Bag and label any loose diapers by size
-
Discard any loose pump parts (not accepted)
-
Securely box/bag all game and toy pieces together
-
Bag stroller, crib, or other gear parts and accessories, and tape to main item
These simple tasks will save hundreds of hours and lots and lots of waste! See above for porch drop locations; items may also be dropped off directly at the Church on Thursday/Friday May 8 or 9, or the morning of the market (May 10, before noon) if necessary.
Same Church, new entrance!
To drop off donations at Emory Church, drive directly to the double doors at the back (alley) side of the church. The alley is off of Quakenbos St NW (turn right) between 13th St NW and Georgia Ave NW (put 1051 Quackenbos St NW into your GPS). We suggest parking on Quackenbos with flashers; the market volunteers will help unload your car and bring donations into the building. Do not park in front of the church (on Georgia Avenue) in the Bus Lane - you WILL be ticketed.
On the day of the Market, some items may be set up in the grassy area outside across the street (to left of church). Please reach out to the volunteer team with any questions.
